Today at Mornington Hall
in London, which offers residential, nursing, residential dementia and nursing dementia care, Colleagues brought the beach to the gardens.
Residents and Colleagues took full advantage of the final warm summer days by holding their very own beach day. The gardens were transformed into the beach with sand and paddling pools and even some rubber ducks!
For lunch the Residents were treated to a beach day classic, fish and chips. Linda, the Wellbeing Coordinator added the cherry on the top of by organising an ice cream van to come by and provide refreshing ice creams to everybody, it also had a candy floss and slushy machine.
Joan, a Resident at the home thoroughly enjoyed her ice cream and looked very happy, she said “It’s been such a lovely day”. Residents also all agreed the ice cream and fish and chips were their favourite part of the day.
Pervine, the Home Manager said “What a wonderful day it was, the staff have done so well here. The Residents really enjoyed themselves”.
