Bringing the beach to Wiltshire ResidentsFor Residents at Salisbury’s residential and nursing care home, Harnham Croft, the beach came to them today for an afternoon of cocktails, sandcastles and sunshine!

All Residents enjoyed a beach day in the sun at Harnham croft, the garden was decorated like a Hawaiian paradise and Residents enjoyed cocktails on the beach before the arrival of the ‘Fish ‘n’ Chip’ van; delivering a traditional British seaside lunch.

Residents and Colleagues paddled in the water and made sandcastles while dipped their toes in the sand. Some also played beach games before the ice-cream van arrived for everyone to enjoy a Mr Whippy or ice lolly.

The day was a huge success and even the arrival of a typical British beach weather shower did not spoil the enjoyment.

Everyone had such a good time dressed up for the occasion. The garden transformed into a tropical paradise too!

One Resident remarked, “What a lovely fun day, the team really pulled all the stops out!”

Jim Bowie, Home Manager, commented, “It was great to be able to bring the beach to Harnham Croft, the whole team did an amazing job and the residents loved it”
