HC-One’s Defoe Court care home in Newton Aycliffe, County Durham kicked off Mental Health Awareness month with its very own bake off.
Team members each prepared their own cake, with a nature theme, for Residents to sample and score out of ten. All of the Residents enjoyed being judges for the day and scoring each cake, chatting about which was their favourite.
Everyone had a lovely time trying lots of delicious different cakes, Mary commented that she has never eaten so many cakes in one day but it was wonderful and hard to choose which one was worthy of the highest score.
Defoe Court Home Manager, Sarah Todd said: “I am pleased everyone enjoyed our cake tasting, we have lots of activities planned throughout Mental Health Awareness month.”
