Dove Court residential, nursing, residential dementia and nursing dementia care home, in Burnley, have been taking part in the BT Care Home Companion Scheme and it has been going down incredibly well with Residents.
Colleagues at the home are currently working with staff from BT for the companion scheme whereby BT call centre volunteers at Accrington, phone the Residents for weekly chats for half an hour.
The Residents have really enjoyed this and look forward to their next phone call, with one commenting, “I really enjoyed it. Its a lovely idea and gives me something to look forward to.”
