Castletown care home Resident enjoys visit to local parkJohn Casey, a Resident at HC-One’s Northview Lodge care home in Castletown, Tyne and Wear enjoyed a local outing for the first time in over a year due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

Prior to the global COVID-19 pandemic, John used to visit the town centre every Tuesday where he would frequent Jacky Whites Market and several restaurants in the area.

Restrictions have meant that John has been unable to visit the town for over year, so it was a special day when he was able to get out and about once again, John visited his favourite market and enjoyed some delicious takeout food in the local park.

John enjoyed being out in the fresh air, feeding the ducks and watching the world go by, he commented that he is looking forward to having regular outings again as restrictions continue to be eased.

Northview Lodge Home Manager, Carol Holland said: “I am so pleased that John and our other Residents are able to start enjoying some of their favourite pastimes, after a year of restrictions you really start to appreciate the small things in life that make you smile.”

Located on Northview Road, Northview Lodge care home offers short and long term care for members of the Castletown community that require residential care and nursing care.
