Christmas has come early to Clarendon HallChristmas has come two months early to HC-One’s Clarendon Hall residential and nursing care home, in Humberston, as they have been making a start on the annual Christmas cakes.

Today Wellbeing Coordinator, Hayley Sandison and Chef, Julie Williams worked with various Residents to make Christmas cakes. The reason for the ‘earliness’ of the activity, is so there would be enough time for the cake to soak in the brandy, as this is the tradition that all the lady Residents said they used to do.

Everyone reminisced about making cakes when they were younger and tips on how to make it the best.

The Residents all enjoyed having a go at mixing it and said it brought back some lovely memories.

Hayley said she learnt a lot about how to make a Christmas cake in the best way, “It was very enjoyable talking about how the Residents used to make their cakes.”
