Coalville care home staff do dry JanuaryCare home Colleagues at The Rowans care home, in Leicestershire, have decided to do ‘Dry January’ to raise money for the Residents’ fund.

Due to the pandemic, as a home, they have been unable to raise money in the usual ways such as at fetes and raffles. Therefore, members of the team, including Lesley, Conor, Hannah, Collette, Alyssa and Fran, have decided to do Dry January, and giving up all alcohol for the whole of January in an attempt to raise monies which will go into the Residents’ comfort fund to use for activities for wellbeing.

Conor, who also works at The Rowans, is also giving up energy drinks, this will be the hardest by far for him, according to fellow Colleagues.

There are sponsor forms available and a crowd funder page and as it stands, the home has already raised £600.

Kym Hubbard, Home Manager, remarked, “What a great way for team bonding and to raise money for our Residents. 'm very proud of them. Good Luck and go smash it!”

“We will give you the grand total at the end of January.”
