Consett Colleague shortlisted for Great British Care AwardHome Manager Kinga Kowaliczek, of HC-One’s Greenways Court residential and residential memory care home, in County Durham, has been shortlisted for the final of the Great British Care Awards 2021.

Kinga was nominated for the regional award of The Care Home Registered Manager for the North East region. She will face an interview of Monday the 25th October 2021.

Staff and Residents were thrilled for Kinga and her recognition. Together with Relatives, they all provided testimonials about her for the award.

Kinga has progressed from being a Carer to her current position as Home Manager at Greenways Court. In her role as Home Manager, Kinga is essentially ‘everything to everyone’ - a regulatory and compliance manager for the organisation who manages the service to deliver good commercial outcomes, a role model and leader for the team, and a listening ear and friend for the Residents and their loved ones.

She is highly professional, makes suggestions for improvement, but never forgets the importance of Residents being at the centre of everything that happens in the home. At a service level, she ensures the delivery of a high-quality service, ensuring appropriate support and advice is given, and staff are supported, going above and beyond when needed. At an organisational level, she is an ambassador for how the organisation promotes a culture of development.

Kinga commented, “It is a huge honour for me and I’m absolutely flattered about this amazing recognition. It makes my job worthwhile and I feel very privileged. I did not expect to be nominated and would like to thank everyone who contributed towards this, it really means a lot to me.  Thank you!”
