Creative writing at Bakers Court care homeDuring a family window visit, one Resident (referred to as JT) was reminded by her son about her love of books and that she had written a book in the past about living with Autism.

Immediately after, JT asked for a notebook and pen and she wished to write a new book. The wellbeing team have supported JT by writing down her dictations for the book.

Everyone is keen to hear her story unfold and she is really excited about the opportunity to write her second book.

William is a fellow Resident, who also lives at the home said, “That’s really good.”

JT said that she was very happy to be given the opportunity to do something that she really enjoys, with the support of the staff at Bakers Court. She commented to one member of the team, “You are really dedicated”.

A member of staff said, “I think that it is absolutely amazing considering JT is living with dementia.”
