A Resident at HC-One’s Tenlands care home in Ferryhill, County Durham recently had his air fix dream become a reality, as Colleagues sourced equipment to help him finish a model plane build.
One of Resident Robert Simmons wishes and dreams is to build an Air Fix model of a Spitfire. Bob had the model but no equipment, so Colleagues sourced the craft knifes, a new sturdy table and sanding blocks so he could start to build it.
Bob’s face lit up as he received the equipment to begin building. He started immediately and was fixated on getting it done.
Bob, a Residents at Tenlands said: “I'm happy I can build and show off my planes now. I've waited a long time for this moment.”
Colleagues at Tenlands are really proud of supporting Bob to achieve such a simple yet powerful wish and are pleased to say the Model Spitfire is well under construction and should be ready for take-off early 2021.
