First day trip for Uddingston care home ResidentsIt was special day for Residents of HC-One’s Highgate care home in Uddingston, Glasgow as they embarked on their first day out since the start of the COVID-19 pandemic.

In the morning, a group of Residents headed to Strathclyde Park for a fun-filled day, everyone enjoyed a slice of cake at the café on the loch and strolled around the park. Later the same day, more Residents visited Drumpiellier Country Park where they watched the ducks and had an ice cream on a park bench.

A great time was had by all, Alicia commented: “It’s great to be out again and see other people having fun, especially the dogs and children.”

Highgate General Manager, Charlene Curtis said: “I am so pleased our Residents enjoyed their first day out, we are looking forward to arranging more fun-filled days through summer.”

Located Old Edinburgh Road, Highgate care home offers short and long term care packages for older ladies and gentlemen that require nursing care and nursing memory care for those living with dementia.
