Gittisham Hill House Resident marks 104th birthdayAt Devon’s Gittisham Hill House residential, nursing and dementia care home, one of its centenarians has marked her 104th birthday today.

Ida has been a Resident at the home for several years and it’s fair to say, is one of our most wonderful characters who Colleagues say they, “All love dearly.”

Ida routinely lifts both feet in the air to ensure the housekeeping ladies properly hoover under her chair every day and enjoys reminiscing about her younger years spent in Manchester.

The special day of celebrations started with a glass of bubbly, a visit from her adoring family, multiple gifts and cards with good wishes to enjoy. All followed by an afternoon party with staff and Residents at the home.

Ida, pictured, says she feels 21 years young and particularly enjoyed the cake, which was made by the home’s Chef, Sam.

Julia Heneker, Care Home Manager, remarked, “It was truly special to see our most senior Residents enjoying her birthday celebrations and be part of such a special day at the home.”

“We couldn’t be more proud of our Resident celebrating her 104th Birthday.”
