Glasgow care home Colleague entertains Residents with ukuleleResidents at HC-One’s Ailsa Craig care home in Glasgow were recently entertained by one of the home wellbeing coordinators as she played the ukulele for them.

Georgina the wellbeing coordinator makes her way around our nursing, dementia and enhanced residential units singing & playing the ukulele to them weekly.

Residents are always looking forward to Georgina coming around the home and are always very complimentary to Georgina about her singing and playing. There is always lots of smiling and even the odd request for a song.

Violet, a Resident at Ailsa Craig said: “I wish I could play an instrument because that was just wonderful. She has such a beautiful voice.”

Donald a Resident at Ailsa Craig, who has four sons who all play the ukulele in a band, loves it when Georgina visits as he likes to reminisce about times when he used to go and see them.

“When Georgina comes around with the ukulele it brings back memories of when I used to watch my son’s play together,” said Donald.
