Glasgow care home receive English lesson from local school childrenResidents at HC-One’s Wyndford Locks care home in Glasgow have kept in touch with their local school children throughout lockdown, building a relationship with some.

Paul Coull, teacher of English at Cleveden Secondary School had some of his children from his English class write letters to Wyndford Residents to help them with their English.

These letters were handed out to Residents who really enjoyed receiving them and, with a little help from staff, replied, which the children were excited about. This is a new community connection for the home which Colleagues hope will continue long after the pandemic.

Wyndford Resident Norman said: “It’s great to see the younger generation writing letters, I thought they had all forgot how to write with all this modern technology!”

The children asked various questions about how it was during the war to favourite music, films and all about how they grew up in Glasgow.

Home Manager Karen Watson said: “It’s nice to see our local community keeping in contact with our Residents at this time.”
