Gravesend Resident celebrates 78th BirthdayToday at Wombwell Hall in Kent, which provides nursing care, a Resident has celebrated his birthday with a party with entertainment. 

Barrie, a Resident at Wombwell Hall celebrated his 78th in style as an entertainer attended the home and played in the garden. She hosted a 60s diva show and performed lots of popular songs from the era. 

Everybody dressed up in 60s gear including Barrie, and he was dancing around the hall with other Residents and Colleagues. Two other Residents, Valerie and Leticia ever acted as backup dancers for Jasmine during the performance, which was well received by everyone. Other Residents also gave their shot at singing with Jasmine at the front, which caused a lot of joy all round. 

The Head Chef in the care home also made a special birthday cake for Barrie. Everybody gathered in the living room and sang Happy Birthday to him, and he was able to blow out the candles.

Speaking afterwards Barrie said, “What a great atmosphere to celebrate my birthday, it has been a while since I’ve had this much fun”. Other Residents also commented on how much fun they had, with one saying, “What a great day for Barrie! I really liked seeing everybody in their 60s dress up”. 

Tarnia, the Home Manager commented afterwards by saying “Its great to see Barrie so happy and enjoying his birthday”.
