Nora, a Resident at
Greenways Court in Consett, County Durham which offers residential and residential memory care, for those living with dementia, is an amazing artist and over the years has collected a number of paintings.
She mentioned to one of the Colleagues at the home that she had many more paintings, the Colleague then asked her that it would be a great honour for us to display these paintings in an exhibition at the home.
Nora’s family were asked the family to bring the paintings into the home, then when Nora entered the room all the other Residents gave her a clap, it was lovely to see the delight in Nora’s face.
She later told her daughter how much the staff had made her feel so special.
Kinga Kowaliczek, Care Home Manager, commented, “We love to go the extra mile with our Residents, and I would like to see if it is at all possible to get Nora’s work shown in a local gallery”.
