On the day of the festival, the team led groups on each unit in making autumn and vegetable wreaths as well as designing the trollies, which were used as part of the farmers market.

The Residents discussed and talked about going to church and making up hampers and what it meant to them. Residents participated in completing word searches and quizzes.

“On each unit we have a YouTube live broadcast of a Harvest Festival which was watched and enjoyed by all - afterwards they continue to talk about their own experiences,” explained Karen Dransfield, part of the wellbeing team, along with Mattie Parkinson and Mia Thomsen.

“It was lovely and so different, we loved how everyone got involved,” added Mattie.

Sue Hanks, Resident pictured inset with Norma Baxter and Winifred Kelly, “I love arts and crafts but wasn’t so keen on the quizzes, as I didn't know the answers!”

With the scarecrows made in the arts and craft session, the team arranged a fundraising event in terms of ‘Guess the name of the scarecrow’ which managed to raise £30!

Karen McGrady, the home’s Manager, commented, “This is a wonderful team who have used imagination and fun and created something a bit different.”
