Harvest Festival at Gittisham Hill HouseHarvest Festival has got off to a fantastic start at HC-One’s residential, nursing and dementia care home, Gittisham Hill House, in Devon as Colleagues have been putting together a Harvest Festival feast.

As well as the feast, an evening service and song was put together and the home’s cook supplied lovely fresh home grown produce from her allotment for the display. Autumnal flowers, greenery and berries made the whole room smell wonderfully autumnal.

Residents loved arranging the display and especially enjoyed their feast of a hot Harvest meal followed by crusty breads, pickles and jams washed down with carrot cake and choice of desserts.

One Resident commented, “I love arranging flowers!”

Once again, staff (including the activities team) went above and beyond to support Residents to enjoy their evening.

Julia Heneker, Care Home Manager, remarked, “Once again staff amazed me with their preparations, organisation and generosity in making sure Residents had a lovely evening.”
