Intergenerational pen pals delight at Ayr care homeResidents at HC-One’s Claremont care home in Ayr were delighted to receive letters from pupils of Dalmilling Primary School.

Children in all year groups at Dalmilling Primary School wrote letters for the Residents of Claremont care home, some showed their creative skills with beautiful artwork while others chose to share their experience of home schooling and missing their friends during the COVID-19 pandemic.

Residents have loved reading through all of the letters and appreciated all of the effort that the children had put in to them. Everyone at Claremont is busy writing their responses to the letters for the pupils and are hoping that they can welcome the children to visit when COVID-19 restrictions allow them to.

Claremont care home Resident, Jean Swan commented on how the letters brought back happy memories of the times when her children were at school.

Claremont Home Manager, Catherine Potts said: “Thank you to all of the lovely pupils at Dalmilling Primary School for taking the time to write such wonderful letters for our Residents.”
