Italian day at Northamptonshire care homeToday at Acacia Lodge in Northamptonshire, which provides residential, nursing and dementia care, an Italian themed day took place.

Residents enjoyed watching a kite festival online and looking at all the different kites being flown around. Andrea Bocelli was played at lunch with Italian meatballs in tomato sauce and spaghetti carbonara was on the menu to choose from.

In the afternoon there was a pizza making event taking place, giving Residents a choice of toppings to use. The home’s chef then cooked these for the Residents.

Lucy, the Wellbeing Coordinator had organised the event, which was well received by the Residents, with one commenting “Andrea Bocelli is such a good singer” and another expressing how much they like the pizza making, with most agreeing this was the best part of the day.

The Home Manager, Farai Maringa commented that “the smell of all the pizza was beautiful! It was lovely to see the Residents enjoying themselves throughout the day”.
