HC-One’s Victoria Manor care home in Edinburgh is celebrating the work of Home Manager Stephen Colquhoun and Area Director, Heather Leighton, who both received a Kindness in Care award for their thoughtful and conscientious attitudes.
The Kindness in Care awards programme was launched by HC-One, a leading provider in health and social care, in October 2013. It recognises the efforts of their kindest Colleagues, and the impact they have on the lives of Residents and their loved ones.
Stephen’s nomination for his award came after a phone call with a Relative who fell during the phone call and injured themselves, Stephen reacted quickly, calling the emergency services and stayed on the telephone to the Relative keeping them calm and offering reassurance until the paramedics arrived.
Heather was also nominated for an award from another HC-One Home Manager for being a very supportive and committed Area Director who is always there to offer advice and resolve any issues that arise within the homes she is responsible for.
Both Stephen and Heather were presented with their Kindness in Care awards by a Colleague and celebrated their achievement with a special buffet lunch for the team and Residents at Victoria Manor.
