Many celebrations at Northumberland care homeResidents at Hartford Court, residential and residential memory care home, in Northumberland have had many celebrations over the past couple of weeks.

Resident, Winnie has recently celebrated her 102nd birthday with family, friends and staff. Despite restrictions on number of visitors, Winnie’s family were able to spend time with her to celebrate such a special birthday.

Home Manager, Rachel Rennie Doran, presented Winnie with cards, made by the residents and a bunch of flowers. Residents sang ‘Happy Birthday’ and gave Winnie a beautiful cake to celebrate the occasion.

Winnie, said, “Thank you all so much, I didn’t want or need fuss but today was perfect.”

Irene, Winnie’s mum, added, “Mum is so lucky to be here amongst all these amazing people who love her and look after her.”

Additionally, staff and Residents threw a joint part to celebrate ‘Children in Need’ and ‘HC-One’s 10th Birthday’. Residents dressed up as either Pudsey bear or ‘dress to impress’. 

Residents sang karaoke provided by Alan, the minibus driver. Staff and Residents were able to have a dance to the music. To celebrate, Residents ate Pudsey cupcakes and a birthday cake. The Pudsey came to visit the Residents.

Edna, a Resident, said, “This made my day, I really enjoyed it.”

Rachel, added, “Once again the staff all came together to make the celebrations a day to remember.”
