Maple Lodge care home do like to be beside the seasideResidents and Staff at Maple Lodge, a residential care home in Stafford, saw the beach come to their home for the afternoon.

Decorated with lots of beautiful summer decorations including hula skirts which both Residents and staff enjoyed wearing, Maple Lodge spent an afternoon enjoying seaside activities.

Residents were treated to a singer who came in to perform their favourite songs, two lots of sand pits full of buckets and spades to play in and an ice cream van popped round to serve everyone ice cream.

To round off the beach day, Residents and staff indulged in a fish and chips lunch from the local chip shop.

One Colleague said: “All Residents absolutely loved having the ice-cream van there, they said it reminded them of being young again.”

Sarah Dodd, Care Home Manager of Maple Lodge Care Home, commented: “We had a really fun filled day with lots of singing and dancing. It was such a beautiful day for both Staff and Residents. Many of our staff said it was nice to see such big smiles across all of our Residents faces.”

Maple Lodge is located in the attractive area of Rowley Park in Stafford. This small, purpose-built care home, with 40 beds, offers residential dementia care.
