Newton Aycliffe care home hosts luauResidents and team members at HC-One’s St Clare’s Court in Newton Aycliffe came together for a fun-filled luau in the home’s garden.

St Clare’s Court was transformed in to Honolulu for the day as Residents and team members enjoyed a garden luau with tropical cocktails, music, dancing and a hula hoop competition. 

The arranged a special treat for Resident, Pat Howie who often enjoys reminiscing about her trip to The Raffles Hotel in Singapore where she first tasted her favourite drink, a Singapore Sling. After sharing Pat’s fondness for the drink with the team at Aviator Gin Bar, the local bar kindly donated a cocktail making kit to recreate Pat’s favourite drink. 

St Clare’s Court Home Manager, Helen Emerson said: “What a lovely day, everyone was in such high spirits and the smile on Pat’s face when she tried a Singapore Sling again was truly heart-warming.”
