Nottingham care home Resident enjoys reading a book in the sunResidents at HC-One’s Acacia care home in Nottingham enjoyed taking part in some activities in the beautiful sun as it shone above the skies of Nottingham early this June.

With the sun finally deciding to show itself, Colleagues thought it would be a great opportunity to get Residents back out into the garden, to enjoy some fresh air and to catch some sun rays, after being restricted by the weather and lockdown.

Stan, a Resident at Acacia, decided to take a book outside and have a read by the flowers, accompanied with an ice-cold glass of fresh orange juice. Stan was Reading the Nottinghamshire’s Collieries Book, which reminds him of his working life down the coal collieries in Calverton.

“How times have changed,” said Stan, “it was a hard life and not for much money.”

Located on the outskirts of Nottingham, in Sherwood, Acacia Care Home is a lovely care home with 48 beds and offers residential, nursing and memory care, for those living with dementia.
