Nutrition and Hydration Week at Glasgow care homeResidents and team members at HC-One’s Northgate House care home in Balornock, Glasgow celebrated Nutrition and Hydration Week from the 14th till the 20th of June.

Nutrition and Hydration Week is an annual event with the objective of highlighting, promoting and celebrating the improvement in the provision of nutrition and hydration across the globe. 

Care Assistant, Louise Black took the lead on the activities for the week, arranging signage to be placed throughout the care home and healthy ingredients for Residents to sample. 

Residents got involved in making healthy smoothies and serving a variety of healthy snacks, everyone commented on how much they enjoyed trying the different flavours. One Resident commented: “How are these drinks both equally healthy and delicious as the same time, I will be having these again.”

Northgate House Home Manager, Kate Cairns said: “It’s wonderful to see our team taking the steps to promote healthier lifestyle choices for our Residents.”
