Olympic snakes and ladders at Hambleton care homeAt HC-One’s Bankhouse residential, residential dementia, nursing and nursing dementia care home, in Poulton Le Fylde, Some Residents took part in a giant game of snakes and ladders today.

Betty, Audrey, Ian, Ruth and Kathy, who all live at Bankhouse, enjoyed an afternoon playing giant snakes and ladders as a new Olympic event.

Each Resident had a throw of the giant dice and Pauline, the Activities Coordinator would move beanbags, going up the ladders and down the snakes dependent on the throw of the dice.

The Residents cheered when the bags went up and commiserated with each other as the bags went down.

The first to the finishing square was Audrey who won a box of chocolates.

Janet Barnes, Care Home Manager, said, “All the Residents and staff were excited with the new game, plus it was good exercise too.”

“It was very competitive and noisy. Residents loved competing with each other and Audrey certainly enjoyed winning!”
