Pet therapy at The VillageResidents at HC-One, The Village, nursing and nursing memory care home, in Glasgow had a visit from pet therapy.

The Residents are visited weekly by the care home mascot dog, Poppy. 

Poppy is a 5-year-old Cavachon who has recently been rescued by Beth, the homes Covid Coordinator. 

Poppy is the most friendly, loving dog and she is happy in her forever home with Beth, and as the home’s mascot. 

The Residents love when Poppy visits, and always talk about her. The Residents love being able to cuddle Poppy.

One Resident, said, “I really enjoy when Poppy visits and I am able to clap for her and have a cuddle. She is the friendliest wee dog I have ever met.”

Another Resident, added, “The visits from Poppy really cheer me up.”

Catherine Duncan, Home Manager, said, “All the Residents really enjoy when the dog visits and they talk about it for days after the visit.”
