Remembrance Day at Greenways CourtResidents at Greenways Court, residential and residential memory care home, in Consett celebrated Remembrance Day.

Over the years Residents have knitted poppies for the front entrance of them home. They are added too each year and Resident’s love putting them up, they feel sad when they must come down.

The Residents have stories about Remembrance Day which they have shared over the years. It is a real honour to look up to the Residents who have stories to tell.

The Chef made an amazing cake to help everyone in the home celebrate. Some of the Residents enjoyed watching the Remembrance Day service on the TV.

Also, the Staff and Residents, held a 2-minute silence. One Resident, commented, “Everyone agreed it was something everyone should do.”

John, a Resident, said, “I remember being in the army and how hard it was.”

Care Home Manager, Kinga Kowaliczek, added, “It is sometimes hard for Residents to remember back to these times. I am glad they enjoyed the day.”
