Remembrance Day for Lincolnshire care home ResidentsResidents at Brooklands residential, nursing and memory care home, made poppies and decorations throughout the week for Remembrance Day.

Colleagues helped Residents to make Denmark and Poland flags for Residents with different nationalities. Then they got together in the morning for two minutes silence and to remember loved ones.

In the afternoon, the wellbeing team put together a talk, and read some poems for our soldiers who fought for our freedom.

Everyone involved then enjoyed hot and cold refreshments while having a good old sing song to ‘We'll Meet Again’, ‘White Cliffs of Dover’, ‘We're gonna hang out the washing’.

After, all chatted about what they remembered during the sad times.

Everyone, including Anne Hicks Pat Thornton, Sue Wiseman, Ivan Sorenson, Keith Jones, Micheal Town, Margaret Prio, Mary Hogg and Beryle Watson, enjoyed singing poems and chatting about loved ones

Catherine Brooks, Care Home Manager, remarked, “It was lovely to see everyone chatting and singing. An emotional but lovely day.”
