Resident hosts dance class at Church View care home'Trina’s Dance Class' has had its first showing at Church View residential care and residential memory care home, in Caerphilly, as one Resident took the lead and encouraged everyone to join in!

The wellbeing team decided to host a sing-a-long with Residents today, something that always goes down well at Church View.

In the middle of the show, Resident Trina was asked to take the lead and she happily entertained the group for five minutes. Trina then started to go around the group, singing and dancing to the Beatles and showing everyone her dance moves. She also was encouraging everyone to get up and join in which was amazing to watch!

Marie Mills, Wellbeing Coordinator, commented, “I can only put this down to the fact that throughout our days here, we are building such good friendships, that confidence is at its highest.”

Dancing with Trina is going to be a weekly thing now and fellow Residents Ruby, Katheleen, Janet and Joan are all looking forward to the next dance class.

Marie added, “I seem to be seeing more and more stories of Residents taking the lead… and this one is no different!”

“How amazing it is to continually see Residents take the lead in things.”
