Residents enjoy pumpkin carving afternoon at Redcar care homeResidents at HC-One’s Roseberry Court care home in Redcar recently enjoyed trying their hand at pumpkin carving, to help supplement the decorations around the home in time for Halloween.

Roseberry Court Residents had lots of fun trying to carve the pumpkins out and lots of help from staff too if they needed it. Colleagues reminisced together with Residents about their childhood days, carving out turnips and how it used to take nearly all day carving a turnip to carry around with you.

Some wonderful designs were carved into the pumpkins by Residents, which will look amazing around the home. Resident Isabella said: “Well I'm really surprised at how good they look, but by gum they have taken some doing.”

Later in the day, Colleagues gathered all the pumpkin seeds and roasted them so Residents could enjoy a small taster session, as lots of them had never tasted pumpkin seeds before.

Roseberry Court Home Manager, Joe Presho said: “Residents have carved some lovely lanterns today, that we are displaying in our entrance, and are looking great.”
