Residents from Fullarton Irvine care home visit Centrestage for a sing and a danceColleagues and Residents at Fullarton Care Home in Irvine which offers nursing and nursing dementia care, attended a tea dance at Centre Stage in Kilmarnock.

Everyone was particularly excited to attend the tea dance as they hadn’t been able to attend a ‘gie it laldy’ get-together for some time.

This is a brilliant event which is funded by the Lottery, allowing everyone the opportunity to enjoy a change of scenery, some lovely refreshments and great entertainment.

One of the Residents, Sandy, loved the tea dance so much she asked: “Can we do this every day?”

The tea dance is hosted by Centrestage whose ethos is to give life changing benefits to anyone, regardless of age, background or experience.

Care Home Manager at Fullarton, Lottie, said: “It was great to finally get out to another tea party at Centrestage. Everyone enjoyed a hot drink and chocolate biscuits.

“The sing along section of the day is always enjoyable. We listened to Scottish favourites, songs from musicals and popular songs from over the years. It was great to see everyone’s happy faces returning to the bus at the end of the day!”

Several of the Residents commented on how much they enjoyed their day out, including Sandy, Betty and Isabell.

They all said that they really enjoyed a journey on the bus, a change of scenery and are really looking forward to the next trip.
