Rotherham Residents soak up the spring sunshineWith a glimpse of sunshine in sight Residents at HC-One’s Silverwood care home in Sunnyside, Rotherham spent the afternoon outside to welcome the warmer weather.

Colleagues used the sunshine as an opportunity to encourage Residents to spend a bit of time outside to soak up some much-needed vitamin D after the cold winter.

Joan, a Resident at the home, commented: “It’s lovely to spend some time outside, it has really cheered me up.”

Residents enjoyed taking a little stroll or sitting on the benches as they admired the spring flowers just starting to flourish in the Silverwood garden. Joan enjoyed picking some daffodils to brighten up her room and it brightened up her day just as much.

Silverwood Home Manager, Carrie Ann Davies, said: “Staff used their initiative to encourage Residents to go outside and I am so proud that they recognise this need without being prompted by myself.”
