Scrapbook sparks memories for Grimsby care home ResidentsAt Brooklands residential, nursing and memory care home, Residents have been taking part in a scrapbook making task which has sparked so many wonderful memories from the Residents… doing what they do best, a good old chat!

After a thorough washing of hands and sanitising equipment, Residents enjoyed finished putting the home’s 2020 Scrapbook together.

Working together, everyone had some great chats about last year looking at all the photos and things they were able to do.

One Resident commented on how lucky they were in some ways, to see families through video chat and write to them.

Another fellow Resident said, “At least we did not have to walk to the phone box as we used to back in the day… I never had a phone for years.”

Also enjoyed were chats about the war days on how some children were separated from families to protect them from the bombing. Residents then looked at old photos on the home’s tablet of the Blitz which brought back some memories of their mums and dads. It really got everyone reminiscing.

Lisa Laws, Home Administrator, said, “It is just lovely to hear the stories!”
