Staying connected through new technology at Falkirk care homeResidents at HC-One’s Barleystone Court care home in Westquarter, Stirlingshire have been showing that it’s never too late to learn something new as they use technology in order to keep in touch with their loved ones through lockdown.

They have been getting to grips with Zoom and Skype video calls on a tablet so that they can keep up to date with their families and spend some time together.

As well as video chat, Residents have been using the tablet to play online puzzle and sensory games to keep their minds sharp. They have enjoyed playing memory games, tic tac toe as well as Fluid, a sensory app where you make patterns through touch.

Barleystone Court Home Manager, Pamela Cummings, said: “It’s great to see everyone making the most of the technology available and having fun doing it. We are looking forward to trying even more things with the tablets.”
