Colleagues and Residents at HC One’s The Rowans care home have created a ‘handy tree’ to show their support for the Wednesday Wave campaign.
The Wednesday Wave is a national campaign aimed to combat loneliness amongst anyone who feels isolated during the current pandemic.
Everyone is encouraged to wave each Wednesday, if they see a Wednesday Wave poster or a hand drawing displayed.
The Rowans care home in Coalville saw this as an opportunity to get all of the Residents to show their support.
The Residents all painted their hands using their favourite coloured paints. The team then helped to put them all together and they created The Rowans Handy Tree.
One Resident said “I had a great time and chose red to paint my hand with”. Another Resident said “it was a messy job, I’m glad I didn’t have to clean up afterwards!”
