Alfie the young King Charles Cavalier Spaniel, has been getting acquainted with the Residents at Stamford Court on a few occasions now, “He's becoming like part of our family!” One Resident remarked.

Alfie, from Noahs A.R.T. the animal assisted therapeutic wellbeing service, knows all sorts of tricks which he wowed Residents with.

One of the Residents remarked, “"He reminds me of my sweet puppy I had when I was a little girl.”

Volunteers and staff chatted with Residents, telling them all kinds fun facts about the popular pup. Anyone whose had a pet will know how much joy and comfort animals can bring and most people at the home have lived with an animal at one point.

Alfie’s owner commented, “It’s magical watching them (the Residents) connect with him, it makes me emotional.”

Sue Jackson, Care Home Manager, added, “For many people who live in care are unable to have animals of their own, so services like this mean a lot!”
