Three special ladies at Brixworth care home have birthdays and anniversariesPytchley Court care home Residents, in Northamptonshire, are celebrating 303 years between them of birthdays and anniversaries this month.

Edna Kerr, Resident at the home, marked her 100th birthday in style on 30th November, with lots of cards, birthday cake and of course the telegram from the Queen herself, which was definitely the highlight of Edna’s day (pictured left). Edna’s family made a video from them all to wish her a ‘Happy Birthday’. Edna joked, “I don’t know what all the fuss was about!” but she had a wonderful day.

Louisa Smith, who lives at Pytchley Court, likes nothing better than reminiscing about her time in The WRENS which stands for the Women’s Royal Naval Service. She enjoys researching and recently Wellbeing Coordinator Judy Barwick, found a link to the Association of Wrens which was established in 1920. So, they are currently celebrating their 100-year anniversary.

On contacting them, Louisa was sent their Centenary badge and mug to commemorate their anniversary, along with a special calendar and magazine. Louisa loved that thought that someone was thinking about her, and was so happy to receive her gifts (pictured centre).

Resident Hilda Brown celebrated her 103rd birthday. Lots of congratulations and birthday messages were wished through video calls and she had a wonderful window visit from one of her sons. Judy helped to make sure Hilda had a wonderful day and the chef even made Linda this fabulous cake, pictured right. Hilda particularly enjoyed reading her cards.
