Today at HC-One’s Stamford Court nursing care home, Colleagues and Residents enjoyed a VE Day party.
As well as listening to Winston Churchill’s iconic speech, everyone reminisced and read lots of old newspaper clippings, which Residents thoroughly enjoyed. This sparked lots of interesting conversations.
Colleagues also played music from the 1940s and games with the Residents, as well as serving beer, wine, tea and cakes.
One Resident commented, “I really love this music!”
Home Manager, Sue Jackson, said, “It was so nice to join in the conversations when the reminiscing started.”
