A Colleague at HC-One’s Birch Court care home in Howley, Cheshire has received an incredible honour when she was presented with a Hero in Care award.
Head Housekeeper Karen Martin was nominated by Birch Court’s Home Manager for the competition held by KPI Care in Warrington. They were looking for care Colleagues who had gone the extra mile.
Karen has worked extremely hard over the course of the difficult year to ensure that the home remains safe for Residents and her fellow Colleagues.
As well as being Head Housekeeper, Karen is also the home’s infection control champion who has supported the team in achieving and sustaining 100% training compliance over the past six months. She also led in the roll out of lateral flow testing for Colleagues at the home.
One Resident commented: “Karen is always so lovely to everyone. It’s well deserved.”
Karen was presented with a certificate from KPI Care as well as a special gift hamper full of treats.
Birch Court Home Manager, Kerry Winstanley, said: “Karen is an inspiration to us all. I would be lost without Karen, she really is worth her weight in gold. She really is a hero in the true sense of the word.”
