Warrington care home host their own OlympicsToday, it was a day full of fun, laughter, activities and lots of teamwork at Callands care home, which offers residential, nursing, residential memory care and nursing memory care for those living with dementia, as well as care for young people with physical disabilities. They decided to hold their own Olympic games!

Colleagues and Residents joined in or observed the games which included an egg and spoon race, a sack race wheel barrow race, handstands and long jump. The games ended with the two highest teams in a tug of war to get the winner.

Everyone had lots of fun and afterwards there was, of course, an obligatory awards ceremony to present the medals and trophies.

Colleagues Sam Butler, Kourtney Owem and Mary Durkin showed their teamwork and brought together a fantastic day!

Residents enjoyed watching everyone taking part. One Resident said, “How wonderful, it’s something new to watch and enjoy, and very funny!”

Lesley Nosworthy, Care Home Manager, said, “All staff enjoyed joining in and others just loved watching us fall over very funny!”

“We will look into doing more teamwork entertainment as this was loved by all.”
