West Derby home creates bingo with a twistSocial distancing certainly can't keep the Residents at Bellefield Court care home, in Merseyside, away from their weekly bingo games!

“With the Residents isolated in their rooms this week, we came up with a new way for them all to play bingo,” explained Wellbeing Coordinator, Ellie Hurt.

The Residents sat in their rooms with the doors open, and Ellie used a karaoke microphone and a speaker to call out the numbers, “We also enjoyed some music afterwards and it felt like we were all together again!”

15 residents got involved, including June Thelwell, Paul Till and Alice Smith (all pictured), and some lovely prizes were won including biscuits and luxury bath sets. They loved the music between each round, shouting out song requests and laughing throughout the afternoon. Positive comments were made about the day such as, “I really enjoyed the bingo!" and "Is this on tomorrow as well?"

Home Manager, Jacqueline Bridge, remarked, “What a way to keep spirits high in worrying times, and an activity that brings people together.”
