Then, Marjorie decided she wanted to play Bingo as she loves Bingo and said she hadn’t played it in so long. The other Residents loved this idea and enjoyed a wonderful afternoon.

Residents had a break midway through for tea, cake and special flavoured lattes – Marjorie had an Irish Latte – provided by the amazing kitchen and Head of Service.

Marjorie unfortunately didn’t win she must have picked the unlucky cards, nevertheless, a fun afternoon was had by all.

“What a wonderful afternoon. It’s lovely to be able to meet everyone properly,” said Marjorie Thompson.

Residents really enjoyed the normality and routine of playing Bingo, many of them used to play Bingo regularly before entering the home and the game is a very sociable game.

Francesca Pattison, wellbeing coordinator at Eastbourne said: “It was a perfect way to welcome the new Resident. Offering them the chance to choose the activity, which also gives us an insight into their previous social life and choices.”
