Whittlesey care home receives wonderful letters from local schoolColleagues at HC-One’s The Elms care home in Whittlesey, Peterborough received some lovely letters from children at Park Lane Junior School.

The school children wrote in their very best handwriting to thank the staff for everything they had been doing to keep Residents safe and well during the coronavirus pandemic.

Some of the children informed staff that they had grandparents in care homes and had really appreciated all of their hard work over the past year.

Staff particularly enjoyed reading the thank you messages and made many quite emotional. One staff member commented and said: “How nice of the children to think of us. It is a lovely gesture.”

Residents of the home were also touched by the lovely gesture. One Resident commented: “It’s very nice to hear the children have recognised how hard the staff work for all the Residents.”

The Elms Home Manager, Katie Coulson said: “Today was lovely, it brought a tear to my eye. It was a wonderful surprise; all staff were very appreciative, and we now have the letters in a folder for all to read.”

To say thank you to all those involved at Park Lane, Colleagues from The Elms presented them with a delicious box full of sweets and chocolate to enjoy.
