Bereweeke residential, residential dementia and nursing dementia care home, in Winchester, introduced its newest Resident, Willy the budgie.
Residents have been asking for a pet and he received a warm welcome by all and is now living in the main lounge where all Residents can enjoy listening to him chirp and watching him play with his toys
One of the Residents was reminiscing, “I had a budgie when I was younger, he was blue like Willy; this brings back happy memories of when I was younger.”
Donna Mobey, Care Home Manager, commented, “Having the bird in the lounge has already bought cheer and smiles. He is a welcomed addition to the home and is sparking conversations too!”
