Avalon Park get festive with jumper day and carol singersOn 10th December, Avalon Park residential dementia and nursing dementia care home, in Oldham held a Christmas Jumper Day and even had some carol singers.

All involved started off the day wearing Christmas jumpers and discussing their favourite things about Christmas. Residents had some lovely chats reminiscing from younger years at Christmas time.

That afternoon they had a lovely garden visit from Kirsty Pass and St Thomas Primary School Choir, who came especially for them to sing Christmas carols. All Residents really enjoyed this singing along with the children and some had tears of joy in their eyes.

One of the Residents remarked, “That was wonderful. We really enjoyed today!”

Elizabeth Lockwood, Allan Whatmough, Richard Hudson, Dennis Dunkerley, James Barnes, Pat Davies, Mary Eccles, Joyce Roe and Bernie Tullis all really enjoyed seeing the children in the garden and singing along with the Christmas carols.

Claire Munro, Care Home Manager, commented, “All the Residents looked amazing in their Christmas jumpers. A wonderful, and very festive, day was had by all. It is officially Christmas at Avalon Park.”
