Beauty and pampering sessions for Aston House ResidentsThis week at Aston House in Middlesex, which provides residential dementia care and nursing dementia care, some Residents have been enjoying a good old pampering session at their salon.

Residents at Aston House were quite used to going into the salon and having pampering sessions, this has been a lot less frequent over the last couple of years, however. Wellbeing staff have arranged for some Residents to visit the salon to try and make them feel happy and content again. Their aim was to give them a classic pampering session where they could feel more confident and beautiful with their new look.

Alice, a Resident at Aston House was very excited and brought a lot of laughter and joy into the room. She went on to say, “This is just what we needed, my nails look fabulous. It reminds me when I was younger and used to get this done all of the time”. The whole day has brought back some wonderful memories from the past, everybody enjoyed reminiscing with each other. Residents were gratified to have a couple massage and hairstyling sessions, which has boosted their self-esteem. Another Resident commented “What a wonderful day, happiness looks gorgeous on everyone’s face”.

Seema, the Home Manager commented afterwards, “A good laugh and encouragement is all they need to boost their day. I am very happy for them all”.
