Colton Lodges care home Residents get fit with Leeds UnitedResidents at Colton Lodges care home in Colton, Leeds have joined forces with Leeds United Football Club with the aim to keep fit and healthy. 

Every Thursday, Sophie Comes along to the 137-bed residential, nursing and dementia care home for 1 hour and entertains the Residents with an exercise programme.

She brings boxing pads and footballs for upper and lower body strength, and to which can help with the mobility of the Residents. 

All Residents that take part enjoy the morning and all communities enjoy mixing with other Residents they may not see daily!

Betty Butterfield, a Resident at the care home, said, “It’s good to get the hips moving I tell you!”

Danielle Longthorn, Care Home Manager, added, “The difference it’s made to our Residents, and the reaction we’ve had is fantastic.”
