Residents and Colleagues, at
Hartford Court care home in Cramlington are starting to get in the festive spirt and have decided to work with a local charity to spread some Christmas joy.
Community Food and Friendship Blyth (CFFB) is a local charity which was founded in 2018, to support families and vulnerable people in Blyth and the surrounding areas.
The Residents and Colleagues were keen to support the local charity by providing Christmas gifts for children in the local community.
CFFB have run a gift giving scheme for children for the past four years helping to provide gifts for over 260 children since last year alone.
At Hartford Court, both Colleagues and Residents are going to provide 30 gifts, by placing angels on a tree, which were made by Resident, Elizabeth Blackett, in the arts and crafts session.
Each angel will have a Christmas gift on it and Relative and Colleagues will be invited to take a tag, buy a gift, and return it back to the home. All the presents will be gathered, and the Residents will take the gifts along to CFFB.
Resident, A Woods, commented, “It feels so good to know you are helping the children.”
Kay Rudd, Care Home Manager, remarked, “Times are hard for a lot of families and anything we can do to support the community and give back is important, especially at this time of year.”
